At AMD's Advancing AI event, Lisa Su called her shot, kind of like Babe Ruth. The question now is whether AMD has built the engineering machine to hit it. Now, last week in our breaking analysis, we argued that AMD's next reinvention, it didn't require AMD to beat NVIDIA head-to-head. Rather, we said that the company needed to become what we call the indispensable second platform in a huge and rapidly expanding AI infrastructure market. Now, that thesis was well received by our community. We got a lot of really good feedback on it, but at Advancing AI, Lisa Su raised the stakes considerably.
