A new personal AI assistant has launched. According to TechCrunch, Tab emerged from stealth Tuesday at a $300 million valuation. The company didn't share exact funding details. Tab joins a growing field of consumer AI assistants, following moves like Instinct and Meta's Muse. Founders Brennan Erbz, Stafford Schlitt, and Ammar Amdani started building Tab earlier this year. Users text the assistant on iMessage or WhatsApp for help with tasks like groceries or gift shopping. Investors include SV Angel, Valar Ventures, and American Spirit. Amdani says growth is mostly word of mouth so far. He told TechCrunch the real question isn't capability. It's trust. Tab says user data never trains its AI models. Payment information stays in a vault the assistant can't access. Amdani says nothing irreversible happens without explicit user approval. The company plans to launch a new product soon.
