Google’s new SynthID website can identify AI-generated media

Google launched a public website that verifies AI-generated media, according to TechCrunch. The tool checks images, videos, and audio clips for AI origins. It was first tested with journalists and researchers at Google I/O last year. Now it's open to everyone. The site supports multiple formats, including JPG, PNG, MP4, and MP3 files. Google uses its SynthID technology, introduced in 2023, to watermark AI content. Models like Nano Banana and Veo use this system. Tools like Gemini also apply SynthID watermarks to generated content.
