I exposed his affair live at our engagement party

AITA for exposing my fiance affair at our own engagement party. My name is Rachel and I am twenty eight years old. I was engaged to a man named Derek for almost two years. We planned a huge engagement party with both families and all our friends. Everything seemed perfect until three days before the party. I found a receipt in his jacket pocket for a hotel room downtown. The date was from last weekend when he told me he was on a business trip. My stomach dropped instantly. I called the hotel pretending to be his assistant confirming details. The front desk clerk mentioned the reservation was for two guests not one. I felt sick but I did not confront him right away. Instead I decided to dig deeper before making any accusations. I checked his phone while he was sleeping that night. I found messages between him and a woman named Vanessa going back eight months. The messages were explicit and loving, calling each other babe and sweetheart. My heart shattered into a million pieces reading those words. I wanted to scream but something inside me stayed calm and calculated. I took screenshots of everything and saved them to my cloud storage. Then I continued planning the party like nothing had happened. Derek had no idea I knew his dirty secret. The night of the party arrived with two hundred guests celebrating our love. Our families flew in from different states just for this moment. Derek stood proudly giving a toast about finding his soulmate in me. I smiled and raised my glass along with everyone else in the room. Then I asked for the microphone to say a few words myself. The room grew quiet as I stood facing my loving fiance. I thanked everyone for coming to celebrate what I thought was true love. Then I pulled out my phone and connected it to the projector screen. The screenshots of his messages with Vanessa appeared for everyone to see. Gasps filled the room as guests read the intimate conversations between them. Derek face turned white as he realized what was happening in front of everyone. His mother covered her mouth in shock while his father looked away in shame. I calmly explained how I found the hotel receipt and then the messages. I told everyone that love should never be built on lies and betrayal. Derek tried to grab my phone but his own brother stopped him. His brother looked furious and said he always suspected something was wrong. Vanessa apparently was not just some random woman either. She turned out to be Derek coworker who everyone at the party actually knew. Her husband was standing right there in the crowd completely unaware until that moment. He stormed out immediately after seeing the messages with his wife name. Chaos erupted as family members started arguing and taking sides instantly. My mother rushed to my side while Derek mother screamed at me for embarrassing her son. I simply said the truth embarrassed him, not me. I removed my engagement ring and placed it on the gift table calmly. Then I walked out of the venue with my head held high. The story spread through our friend group within hours after that night. Apparently Derek had been cheating with multiple women throughout our entire relationship. Vanessa husband filed for divorce the very next week after the incident. Derek tried calling me nonstop for days afterward begging for forgiveness. I blocked his number and focused on rebuilding my shattered life instead. Some family members think I should have confronted him privately instead of publicly. Others say he deserved the humiliation after destroying my trust so completely. My own sister told me I went too far ruining his reputation forever. But I believe everyone deserved to know the truth about who they were celebrating. The venue owner later told me it was the most dramatic party she ever hosted. I do not regret my decision even though it caused a scene. Was I wrong for exposing him in front of everyone we knew.
